Connecting the the AirOS serial console
For any terminal program, the important (default) settings are:
- Baud Rate: 9600
- Data Bits: 8
- Stop Bits: 1
- Parity: None
- Flow Control: None

PuTTY
PuTTY is very easy to use, feature rich, open source application which is available for both windows and linux.
Launch putty, and

Set your Session settings: |
Set your Serial settings: |
Make sure to click Save on the Session page when you are done!
Now:
- Make sure your TTL cable is plugged into your computer
- Launch putty, and load the session we created
- Connect the ethernet/power cable to the unit
- Connect the TTL cable to the unit
- Watch the unit boot
Conclusion
You can now interrupt the Redboot sequence by hitting Ctrl-C, monitor the kernel boot, load a new firmware, or anything else you need to do. Have fun, and be careful!
